The Sky Demon's Talisman by cooley

According to the role-play story I'm running with , Bladewind is fated to inherit a crystal which holds half the power of the "Sky Demon" (her tribe's savior). A series of strange events will lead her to find and fall in love with the carrier of the other half of this crystal. She knows little of this destiny, and even less about the extent of the Sky Demon's power.

To read this story, click here.

This is my very FIRST project in Corel Painter X. I've never used Painter before but am pleased with the outcome. There are two WIPs associated with this project:
-Bladewind Among Gears
-Painter Bladewind

Figaroo Reference Image by cooley

Bascially, Figaroo functions on coffee. He's almost always half-crazy b/c of caffeine, but he'll get worse if he's separated from it.

I tried a new technique! The inking is 100% traditional, while the coloring 100% digital. That's why you can still see some of my sketch-lines.

Medium: Photoshop CS3
Tags: coffee cooley Figaroo
